Kadayawan sa Davao 2012

August is when the people of Davao City celebrates a week of thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. It is the city's celebration for all the good things mother nature blessed the city and its ethnic beginnings. The celebration this year officially opened on the 12th , but various activities will be staged starting the 17th of this month.

The city at this time of the year abounds with all kinds of fruits that are displayed almost everywhere in the city. It is also the time of the year that flowers are in full bloom and made the city so colorful. There are areas properly set-up by the government to showcase Davao's bounty, it could be in Trade Fair, Bazaars, Shopping Malls or on the Local Markets.


Activities for the coming days would feature "Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan" , a street dancing competition commemorating the different tribal groups in their colorful costumes and will showcase their culture and tradition.












The next big event is "Pamulak Sa Kadalanan". A Floral Parade of the beautiful flora and fresh fruits of Davao. The City has prided itself of the Queen of orchids, the "Waling-Waling" and other genus and specie of flowers. Floats will be decorated with these blessings and will represent a theme that the organizers had chosen.
